Madonna Holiday(music video)
Description
Although a music video for the song was created, it was reportedly so bad that it was never released. Instead, recordings of television performances were used; for the U.S. and the U.K., a performance from "Solid Gold" was used, while in Europe, performances from "Sky Channel" as well as a "Top Of The Pops" episode were used. Very few people have actually seen the original music video.
The performance of "Holiday" from the "Blond Ambition Tour" in France was released as a music video in 1991 to promote the documentary film Truth or Dare.
Another music video, this time a montage of clips from the Drowned World Tour in 2001, was released to promote the live DVD at the end of that year. Although the clips were taken from the DVD and were from the second Detroit performance, the audio was taken from the previous night's performance and is noticeably different from the audio on the DVD.
Lyrics
Holiday Celebrate
Holiday Celebrate
Chorus:
If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice
Everybody spread the word
We're gonna have a celebration
All across the world
In every nation
It's time for the good times
Forget about the bad times, oh yeah
One day to come together
To release the pressure
We need a holiday
(chorus)
You can turn this world around
And bring back all of those happy days
Put your troubles down
It's time to celebrate
Let love shine
And we will find
A way to come together
And make things better
We need a holiday
(chorus)
Holiday Celebrate
Holiday Celebrate
(chorus)
Holiday Celebrate
Holiday Celebrate
Holiday, Celebration
Come together in every nation

Mariah Carey-Vision Of Love(music video)
Description
The making of the single's video was accompanied by several minor disputes. Carey had wanted to wear a bikini for it, but producers and executives vetoed her idea.[citation needed] Once the video was complete, producers requested that a new video be filmed, as they felt the original was not satisfactory and knew that a single's music video can be crucial to record sales. The resulting video, directed by Bojan Bazelli, features Carey on a darkly-lit stage against a background of moving clouds and a staircase. Carey has declared her hatred for the video, as she did not like its tone or her hairstyle.[citation needed] In one shot, she can even be seen snapping off her own hair accidentally. Sources indicate that the total cost of both the videos came to around US$450,000 (very large for a debut single), but label executive Don Ienner stated: "If we're gonna take the time and effort that we did with Mariah, on every level, then we're going to image her the right way. If it costs a few extra dollars to make a splash in terms of the right imaging, you go ahead and do it".[6]
Because "Vision of Love" was Carey's debut single and she had not quite solidified her position as a music star, no remixes of the single were commissioned. However, two live versions of the track have been released as exclusive live performance bonus tracks on non-U.S. releases of the single. The first live version was culled from the EP MTV Unplugged (1992). The live version released on the single is not the same as the version found on the MTV Unplugged album; it has been edited and the intro and outro were faded to reflect this. This version of the song is most often found on the UK single of "I'll Be There" (1992). The other live performance is taken from Carey's DVD Fantasy: Mariah Carey at Madison Square Garden (1996), and can be found on most European singles of "Open Arms" (1996).
Lyrics
Treated me kind
Sweet destiny
Carried me through desperation
To the one that was waiting for me
It took so long
Still I believed
Somehow the one that I needed
Would find me eventually
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given to me
Prayed through the nights
Felt so alone
Suffered from alienation
Carried the weight on my own
Had to be strong
So I believed
And now I know I’ve succeeded
In finding the place I conceived
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given to me
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given me
I’ve realized a dream
And I visualized
The love that came to be
Feel so alive
I’m so thankful that I’ve received
The answer that heaven has sent down to me
You treated me kind
Sweet destiny
And I’ll be eternally grateful
Holding you so close to me
Prayed through the nights
So faithfully
Knowing the one that I needed
Would find me eventually
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you’ve given to me
I had a vision of love
And it was all that you turned out to be

It was produced by Mark Kamins, and received a mixed reception from music critics. The song was released as a single in the fall of 1982 (see 1982 in music) and was a top five dance music hit in the United States, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play Chart.
Lyrics
Everybody, come on
Everybody, you can do your thing
[repeat for track 7]
[Chorus:]
Everybody, come on, dance and sing
Everybody, get up and do your thing
Everybody, come on, dance and sing
Everybody, get up and do your thing
Let the music take control
Find a groove and let yourself go
When the room begins to sway
You know what I'm trying to say
Come on, take a chance
Get up and start the dance
Let the D.J. shake you
Let the music take you
[chorus]
Let your body take a ride
Feel the beat and step inside
Music makes the world go 'round
You can turn your troubles upside down
Gonna have to change your mind
Gonna leave your troubles behind
Your body gets the notion
When your feet can make the motion
[chorus, repeat]
Dance and sing, get up and do your thing [repeat 3 times]
Let the music take control
Find a groove and let yourself go
When the room begins to sway
You know what I'm trying to say
Come on, take a chance
Get up and start the dance
Let the D.J. shake you
Let the music take you
[chorus, repeat]
(Everybody) Dance and sing
(Come on) Get up and do your thing
(Everybody) Dance and sing
(You can do your thing) Get up and do your thing
[repeat and fade]

Michael Jackson - Earth Song
Description
Earth Song" is a song by Michael Jackson featured on Jackson's 1995 HIStory album. The song's music video depicts the Earth being destroyed by humans, and alludes to environmental and poverty issues in the world. The visuals present the destruction of rainforests by loggers, majestic animals killed by poachers, and a North American forest burnt to stumps. The video also shows the devastation of 1990s aggressions between Bosnia and Bosniaks returning to their shattered homes. The video's scene was recorded in Croatia, due to instability in Bosnia at the time. The video includes stock footage of the Serb army shelling of Bosnian villages. In the end, Michael and all the suffering native peoples depicted cry, kneel, and dig into the dirt, which magically triggers the world to swirl backwards in time, returning everything to its original, peaceful state.
When it was released in 1995, it reached number one in the United Kingdom, becoming the Christmas number one single in that year, selling over a million copies. The single sold over three million copies worldwide.
However, many critics considered both the song and the video to be pompous and overbearing, a charge repeated by Jarvis Cocker as a partial explanation for his notorious invasion of Jackson's stage during a performance of "Earth Song" at the 1996 BRIT Awards. Fans said that the critics failed to fully read the lyrics of the song, or look at the video more closely. They claim there were no indications of a "messiah complex" that some critics claimed, and in the video, Jackson represented himself as a mendicant who prays for a better tomorrow, along with the nations of the world. The posture adopted by Jackson while performing this song at the BRIT Awards in fact originated in the video to his earlier single, "Will You Be There". The "Earth Song" video is available on the DVDs HIStory On Film Volume II and Number Ones. It was nominated for a 1996 Grammy for Best Short Form Video.
Lyrics
What about sunrise
What about rain
What about all the things
That you said we were to gain.. .
What about killing fields
Is there a time
What about all the things
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we've shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores?
Aaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaah
What have we done to the world
Look what we've done
What about all the peace
That you pledge your only son...
What about flowering fields
Is there a time
What about all the dreams
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the children dead from war
Did you ever stop to notice
The crying Earth the weeping shores
Aaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaah
I used to dream
I used to glance beyond the stars
Now I don't know where we are
Although I know we've drifted far
Aaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaaah
Aaaaaaaaaaah Aaaaaaaaaaaah
Hey, what about yesterday
(What about us)
What about the seas
(What about us)
The heavens are falling down
(What about us)
I can't even breathe
(What about us)
What about the bleeding Earth
(What about us)
Can't we feel its wounds
(What about us)
What about nature's worth
(ooo,ooo)
It's our planet's womb
(What about us)
What about animals
(What about it)
We've turned kingdoms to dust
(What about us)
What about elephants
(What about us)
Have we lost their trust
(What about us)
What about crying whales
(What about us)
We're ravaging the seas
(What about us)
What about forest trails
(ooo, ooo)
Burnt despite our pleas
(What about us)
What about the holy land
(What about it)
Torn apart by creed
(What about us)
What about the common man
(What about us)
Can't we set him free
(What about us)
What about children dying
(What about us)
Can't you hear them cry
(What about us)
Where did we go wrong
(ooo, ooo)
Someone tell me why
(What about us)
What about babies
(What about it)
What about the days
(What about us)
What about all their joy
(What about us)
What about the man
(What about us)
What about the crying man
(What about us)
What about Abraham
(What was us)
What about death again
(ooo, ooo)
Do we give a damn
