Description
The video was shot in Mexico City, Mexico and was directed by Hype Williams. It features Ashanti in sexy positions, posing and wearing a variety of outfits. In one scene, Ashanti is in the shower and in another she is inside a cocoon-like lamp. The video ends with her and a group of female dancers performing the song in concert. 7 Aurelius (who co-wrote and produced the song) makes an appearance at the beginning and at the end of the video, playing the guitar. Over 2000 extras were used the final scene of the video which was performed in a bullfighting coliseum.

Description
Ashanti's lyrics for "Rain on Me" address the pains and challenges of facing, and eventually overcoming, an abusive relationship. Wanting to bring her lyrics to life in a cinematically ambitious, narrative driven way, the singer/songwriter worked with LidRock & director Hype Williams to produce the mini-movie version of the song.

"We wanted to make a short movie that was 'real' — that showed that no matter if you're rich or poor, black or white, famous or not, domestic violence can touch your life" explained Ashanti.
